Just like many former wrestlers, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is heartbroken over the loss of Benjamin Satterley.
Satterley, who competed under the name Neville in the WWE, died this Sunday in the city of Des Plaines, Illinois. He passed away one day after he fought for the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) National Championship.
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac,” the company said in a statement. “A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
On Tuesday afternoon, The Rock offered his condolences to the Satterley family.
“It hurts my heart to do this,” The Rock said. “I wanted to send out into the universe and to the Satterly family my love and my condolences, my support, my light, my mana, as you are enduring the loss of your loved one, Benjamin Satterley. As global as professional wrestling is, as global as WWE is, as much as AEW is growing into this phenomenal wrestling company, and wherever you’re wrestling at around the world… we’re still a very tight knit unit and a tight knit group because we all share the same DNA. But when we lose one of our own, it hurts. And when they’re young and so insanely talented, it really [expletive] hurts.”
