Despite his history with the New England Patriots, legendary quarterback Tom Brady won't be rooting for them when they take the field Sunday for Super Bowl LX.

Since FOX won't be broadcasting this year's Super Bowl, fans assumed Brady would want the Patriots to defeat the Seattle Seahawks. During an appearance on the “Let’s Go!” podcast this week, he debunked that theory.

“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one,” Brady said, via Pro Football Talk. “May the best team win. And in terms of the Patriots, this is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone’s embraced the Mike Vrabel regime, all the amazing players that have worked so hard to get their club to this position. We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus in there, but the Patriots are back and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.”

Brady's comments didn't sit well with one of his former teammates, Patriots legend Vince Wilfork.

“That's bullcrap, Tom. Come on now. All that political - it isn’t political. The Raiders are not in it. Say what it is. What do you see?” Wilfork said on WEEI, via NESN. “If you’re a Patriot for life, you know what it is. Don’t give me that political bullcrap. That’s just what it is. If you don’t think we’re going to win, just pick Seattle then. Don’t straddle the fence.”

Do the current Patriots players care about TB12's comments?

Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane was informed about Brady's lack of support for the team during Thursday's media availability.

Spillane told reporters it makes him sick that Brady won't be pulling for the Patriots on Sunday.

It's possible Brady is just trying to avoid rooting against Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. They'll be working together once Kubiak officially becomes the head coach of the Raiders.

At the end of the day though, Brady will always be remembered for his extraordinary run with the Patriots. The fact that he's on the fence about the Super Bowl is just odd.
