ESPN’s Pat McAfee is apparently trying to block out all the noise from his critics.
It’s no secret that McAfee has dealt with a lot of backlash over the past few months. Some fans are tired with his antics on “College GameDay,” whereas others believe he’s overexposed on ESPN.
During this Monday’s edition of his self-titled show, McAfee called out the Utah students who mocked him on “College GameDay.” He also put the university on blast for sharing a video of people imitating him.
“You know why I didn’t like it mostly? Right before I go out there, okay, right before I go out there, I see the University of Utah’s Instagram page, okay?” McAfee said, via Awful Announcing. “They put out a video, can you do an impression of Pat McAfee? And one kid goes, ‘Ah, he’s corny.’ Another kid calls me creepy. Okay, if these kids would have done this on their own blogs, all good. I mean, everybody’s taking shots at me anyways for everything. I get it. If the two ladies that were hosting that put that out on their own blog, I’d be okay with it. Hey, you, you’re allowed to do what you — the university puts that out? Like, as I’m about to go out and do an infomercial for the place, and then I’m walking in front of thousands of these people, this is how the university feels about it?”

McAfee then alluded to the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
“Has anything like really scary happened at like a college gathering in the state of Utah recently? Do we think we should be amplifying reasons for why people hate my guts as a university? I don’t know.”
Although we thought this saga would finally come to an end this Tuesday, it’s been revealed that McAfee’s account on X has blocked certain critics.
Pat McAfee is also feuding with the New York Times.
A little over two weeks ago, The Athletic’s Jerry Brewer suggested that “College GameDay” is no longer the “ultimate gathering place for all fans” due to McAfee’s “frat-rock prankster” personality.
McAfee fired back at the New York Times, which owns The Athletic, during this past Saturday’s episode of “College GameDay.”
“New York Times always saying it! ‘This a—–e is shirtless at 9:02 a.m. Eastern!’ Sorry, Coach. I’m ruining the whole sport; I’m ruining the whole sport because of this,” McAfee sarcastically said.
If we had to guess, it won’t be long before McAfee ends up in another public feud.
