NFL regular season losses don’t get much more crushing than the one experienced by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
The Cowboys fell to the Ravens on a last-second field goal, as Baltimore executed the quickest game-winning drive in history. Seven seconds after the Cowboys tied the game on a Brandon Aubrey field goal, Baltimore shocked the world with a game-winning field goal as time expired.
Dallas dropped to 1-2 on the season with the loss, while Baltimore improved to 2-1 on the year with the victory.
“At the end of the day, I just really just feel bad for [the players],” said head coach Brian Schottenheimer after the loss. “ You know, we played hard, we fought back, after a long trip, and we had our chance to win. Unfortunately, we didn’t get it done.”
It was a crushing defeat.
“They’ll get two days off, and [we] have got to get right to work as a staff,” said Schottenheimer. “I’m just disappointed for the men in that locker room because of the type of men they are and how they work, and when you come up short, it hurts.
“… No one can say that they called or played a perfect game. No one. And so, to me, at the end of the day, we all look at ourselves first. We pull our bootstraps up, we get our asses back to Frisco, and we go back to work.”
But as the Dallas Cowboys were crushed on the field, the team’s cheerleaders had some fun in Brazil.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders met a special guest at halftime, too, with Ricky Martin performing in Brazil.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders performed their iconic “Thunderstruck” routine in front of thousands of screaming Brazilian fans.
Ultimately, while it was a highly disappointing outcome for the Cowboys, it’s clear that the team’s cheerleaders always deliver, win or lose.
