It’s been another rough start to the season for the Washington Commanders, who are 1-3 on the season with an average offense and a pretty paltry defense. Unfortunately, the keys to any success they hope to have might be on the injury report right now.
Ahead of their Week 5 clash with the rival New York Giants, the Commanders released their first official injury report of the week. That injury report features a whopping 23 players, 17 of whom were either limited or couldn’t practice at all.
Headlining the DNP column are backup QB Marcus Mariota and starting wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin. 11 players were limited in one way or another including rookie first-round linebacker Sonny Styles and both of their leading rushers.
Fans were stunned by how extensive the injury report is and had some jokes about the whole situation:
“What in the actual (expletive) dude. This is a CVS receipt!” one user declared.
“Sweet merciful Budda how are this many people hurt,” wrote another.
“What the heck? So many injuries and especially hammies? It’s hard to see this as anything but terrible training,” a third wrote.
“Lets just sim to the next season bro.”
“Holy (expletive) this is long. Stefon Diggs was out with a hamstring, while Bill and Sonny Styles were limited with groin injuries and 100 other players. Yikes. #Commanders.”

One Major Positive
One player that Commanders fans probably were excited to see on the injury report as a sign of recovery is starting QB Jayden Daniels. The former Rookie of the Year was listed as a full participant in practice after missing the last two games with a nasty elbow injury he suffered in Week 2.
The problem is, it may not matter how healthy Daniels is if there’s nobody to throw to or anyone to hand the ball off to.
