Jillian Michaels, a longtime TV personality known for her time on shows like "The Biggest Loser," is trending for her stance on the USA Hockey controversy.
Team USA topped Canada, 2-1, in overtime of the men's hockey gold medal game last month. It was America's first gold medal win in men's hockey since 1980. But the American team faced blowback for their postgame celebration, in which they laughed at President Trump's joke about having to invite the women's team - which also won gold - to the White House, too.
"The United States men's hockey team, in their utter moment of glory ... ruined it for themselves because they allowed themselves to be totally co-opted by a clown," Megan Rapinoe said on A Touch More with Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe. "And now, you're a clown. You look like a clown."
But Michaels, 52, has taken her side in the controversy.

Michaels thinks the controversy is way overblown.
Former 'Biggest Loser' star speaks out
Michaels has assigned blame, suggesting that too many people made it political.
“There were just some incredibly heartfelt moments that made me proud to be American. The hockey team. Let’s talk about this for a second. These kids, both the boys and the girls, won the gold for America. Neither team said anything anti-American. It’s wrong that we put our athletes in a position to have to comment on this. I love the fact that Jack Hughes said for the men’s hockey team, like, we’re athletes. We’re not political. We’re proud to be American. We’re proud to play for America. And I saw so much pushback on social media from people on the far left," she told Fox News.
Michaels isn't backing down.
Team USA, meanwhile, seems to be ready to move on.
“People react to everything nowadays,” U.S. men’s hockey general manager Bill Guerin said. “The most important thing, and the guys have all said it in their interviews, we were in lockstep with the women’s team. There was nothing that was set out to be political. There was nothing that was meant to harm anybody. But people take it that way. What I can tell you is that, I’ll just say our group, we have unconditional love for our country. And what we did was for everybody.
“I don’t care what your political stance is, what your gender, race, view on anything is. I don’t care, this win was for you. This win was for our country, no matter what you think of anything. I have unconditional love for my country. Not just when it’s good for me. And this win was for our country.”
