We're one game into the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup in North America.
Canada took down South Africa in the first of 16 Round of 32 knockout games. We'll get three per day from Monday through Friday. The U.S. men's national team will be playing Bosnia with a spot in the Round of 16 on the line on Wednesday evening.
So far, the North American World Cup has been a huge success. Foreign visitors are boasting about how much fun they are having, while stadiums have been packed and the games themselves have been exciting.

But which U.S. cities are enjoying the World Cup the most?
Ten American cities have watched the most 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup matches so far, according to the TV data.

Heading into Sunday, 54 World Cup matches had been played, with 50 to go. We're now at 49 to go following the Canada vs. South Africa game on Sunday afternoon (won 1-0 by Canada).
The following 10 U.S. cities have watched the most World Cup matches so far, according to the latest TV data:

- Boston
- Austin
- Dallas
- San Diego
- San Francisco
- Atlanta
- Richmond
- Washington, D.C.
- St. Louis
It comes as no surprise that Kansas City, know for its soccer love, comes in at No. 1. Boston, meanwhile, welcomed Scotland fans to their city at the start of the World Cup and appear to be loving the tournament so far, too.
Games will continue on Monday, with three World Cup Round of 32 matches on tap.
