The Kansas City Chiefs showed in Week 3 that they can win even in tough games, getting a hard-earned 24-10 win over the Miami Dolphins on the road at Hard Rock Stadium.
During the contest, the Chiefs struggled to create consistent offense like they had in previous games. However, the defense picked up the slack and made it difficult for the Dolphins to score as well. Kansas City was ahead 14-10 entering the final quarter.
Even Patrick Mahomes himself admitted that they did not play up to their usual “standard,” per ESPN.

Despite their shortcomings, head coach Andy Reid commended his team for getting the job done. He admitted that it “wasn’t the prettiest” victory, but he’ll take the W over a loss. After all, the Chiefs maintained their unbeaten start to the season and continue to show that they are back to their dominant selves.
“We never critique how pretty they are,” Reid said. “That wasn’t the prettiest one. But every win in this league is tough to get. Tough to get, man. You took care of business when you needed to.”
Kenneth Walker III was instrumental in the Chiefs’ win, as he recorded a receiving touchdown and a rushing score. For his part, Mahomes threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns.
The Chiefs entered the game having scored over 30 points in each of their first two outings, so they were expected to dominate against the winless Dolphins. That being said, it’s certainly surprising to see them struggle early on.
Kansas City’s victory might not have been their best yet, as Reid observed. Regardless, they are now 3-0 on the season and should be more than capable of posing a threat to their fellow unbeaten team Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4.
