The Texas Longhorns were the final team that wide receiver Monshun Sales took an official visit with. Traveling to Austin on June 19, the pass catcher got a close look at the program's facilities, team culture, the coaching staff and the everyday life of a student-athlete.
When it comes to the battle for Sales, the Longhorns are a newer contender. He first announced his offer from Texas on April 6 and took his first visit with them on April 15.
However, that doesn't mean head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff shouldn't be confident in their chances to land his commitment.

In fact, his official visit in Austin may have given the pass catcher a bit more to think about. In an article from Rivals' Greg Smith, it was noted that the trip reportedly gave Sales a strong impression of the Longhorns.
"The recent official visit to Texas is said to have made an impression according to sources. The Longhorns coaching staff made a big move selling the opportunities in Austin both on and off the field. When Texas is financially motivated for a recruit as they were with four-star tight end Brock Williams it’s tough to beat them."
Landing Sales would be a major win for Sarkisian and his staff. At 6-foot-5 and 201 pounds, he is a five-star recruit, the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 8 player in the nation, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.
It's not an easy battle to win, though. Along with the Longhorns, Sales took official visits with the Indiana Hoosiers (April 24), Alabama Crimson Tide (May 29), Ohio State Buckeyes (June 12) and LSU Tigers (June 16).
A commitment may be coming soon, with Smith writing, "A mid-July decision looking likely." With Texas hoping to come out on top, Sales is setting the stage for one of the biggest commitment decisions of the offseason.
