The Houston Texans host the New York Giants on Sunday after consecutive wins over the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars. C.J. Stroud’s offense has found its rhythm, but injuries could force changes to the lineup. With several starters unavailable, Houston must rely on its depth to keep the momentum going.
Safeties Reed Blankenship and Jalen Pitre, running back David Montgomery, and tackle Blake Fisher are listed as out. On the positive side, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair and tackle Trent Brown practiced fully on Friday, while Tank Dell participated all week and is listed as questionable.
New York will start J.J. McCarthy at quarterback, and its own absences could affect the matchup. Houston’s challenge is to manage its missing starters while applying pressure to the new Giants starter and protecting Stroud on offense.

Notes: With Blankenship and Pitre ruled out, Houston will need other defensive backs to handle the safety workload. Ja’Marcus Ingram is one option in the secondary, while Houston could rotate its available defensive backs to cover the absences. With Montgomery unavailable again, Woody Marks is expected to lead the backfield, with Dare Ogunbowale available to help.
Dell is questionable despite practicing fully throughout the week, so his availability should not be treated as confirmed until the team announces its final decision. If active, he would give Stroud another receiving option alongside Nico Collins, Noel, and Harrison. Al-Shaair and Brown both practiced fully Friday, which is encouraging for Houston’s defense and offensive line.
