Tennessee Titans Release Their First Unofficial Depth Chart of the Preseason

The Tennessee Titans have released their unofficial depth chart ahead of the first preseason contest, as the Titans will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. Here is how things have begun to shape up.

Offensive Depth Chart

Quarterback:
Starter: Cam Ward
2nd: Mitchell Trubisky
3rd: Will Levis/Hendon Hooker
The biggest takeaway from this is the fact that Mitchell Trubisky is listed as the current backup over Will Levis, as the two are battling.

Running Back:
Starter: Tony Pollard
2nd: Tyjae Spears or Michael Carter
3rd: Julius Chestnut or Kalel Mullings or Nicholas Singleton
When it comes to the running back depth, this is one of the positions that seems the most out of order. With Singleton not battling for the second-string job, it seems that there have been some hidden gems from practice.

Wide Receiver:
Starters: Carnell Tate/Calvin Ridley/Wan'Dale Robinson
2nd: Elic Ayomanor/Bryce Oliver/Chimere Dike or Mason Kinsey
3rd: Xavier Restrepo or Lance McCutcheon/Courtney Jackson or Tyren Montgomery/KJ Osborne or Hank Beatty
The biggest question following this release is "What more does Ayomanor have to do?" I believe that Ayomanor deserves the outside receiver job over veteran Calvin Ridley.

Tight End:
Starter: Gunnar Helm
2nd: Daniel Bellinger or Kylen Granson
3rd: David Martin Robinson or Jaren Kanak or Joel Wilson
The Titans are guaranteed a new starter since Chigoziem Okonkwo is no longer with the franchise. It seems that Helm is the leader for the position as of now.

Offensive Line:
Starters: Dan Moore Jr./Peter Skoronski/Austin Schlottmann/Cordell Volson/JC Latham
2nd: Austin Deculus/Jackson Slater/Andre James/Fernando Carmona/Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
3rd: Aamil Wagner/Drew Moss/Pat Coogan/Garrett Dellinger/Zachary Thomas or Rasheed Miller
As it comes with no shock, the Titans go with the experience at center and guard; however, the biggest shock from this release is that Coogan is a third-string an not a primary backup.

Defensive Depth Chart

Defensive Ends:
Starters: Jermaine Johnson II/Jacob Martin
2nd: Oluwafemi Oladejo/Keldric Faulk
3rd: Malik Herring or Truman Jones/Jaylen Harrell
The starters come as expected. As for the rotation, it comes as expected as well, as the first four will likely play a reasonable number of reps.

Defensive Tackle:
Starter: Jeffery Simmons
2nd: Solomon Thomas or Jackie Marshall
3rd: Khalen Saunders or Timmy Horne
No shock comes at the defensive tackle position, as Simmons enters as a captain and his backups seem reasonable.

Defensive Lineman:
Starter: John Franklin-Myers
2nd: Jordan Elliott or Earnest Brown IV
3rd: Jalyn Holmes or Laki Tasi
Simmons pair is expected to be Franklin-Myers. His backups are key to this depth chart, as they are in what I would say is a perfect order.

Linebackers:
Starters: Cody Barton/Cedric Gray/Mohamoud Diabate
2nd: James Williams Sr./Dorian Mausi/Anthony Hill Jr.
3rd: Dominique Hampton/Sean Brown/Mani Powell
There are three starters listed on the roster, although it does seem that there will be two players who take the field at a time. Hill Jr. not being a starter is a bit shocking.

Cornerbacks:
Starters: Alontae Taylor/Cor'Dale Flott/Marcus Harris
2nd: Micah Robinson/Joshua Williams/Keydrain Calligan
3rd: Mario Goodrich III/Nazeeh Johnson/Jalen McMurray
As expected, Harris, Taylor, and Flott will be the starting group backed by a young rotation in 2026.

Safeties:
Starters: Amani Hooker/Kevin Winston Jr.
2nd: Tony Adams/Kendell Brooks
3rd: Erick Hallett II or Derrick Canteen/Jerrick Reed II or Bishop Fitzgerald
This is also a position group with not a ton of shock coming through, as the Titans show their trust in Hooker over Adams.

Kicker: Joey Slye (Townsend backup)
Kickoff: Joey Slye (Townsend backup)
Punter: Tommy Townsend (Slye backup)
Holder: Tommy Townsend (Trubisky backup)
Punt Returner: Chimere Dike (Kinsey backup)
Kickoff Returner: Chimere Dike (Carter backup)
Long Snapper: Morgan Cox
None of this seems like it will change, as this group completely seems set in stone moving forward.
