The Tennessee Titans have been making some major moves this offseason, but there was one move that they needed to make before the season started. The move that the Titans needed to make was extending their best offensive lineman, as they were continuing to offer deals to left guard Peter Skoronski.
Luckily for both the Titans and the outstanding left guard, the two parties agreed to a four-year extension. Here is what was said about the details.

"The #Titans and standout G Peter Skoronski have agreed to terms on a huge new extension to make him the highest-paid guard in the NFL. Skoronski gets a 4-year, $100M deal with $88M guaranteed, as the former No. 11 overall pick, a Cam Ward bodyguard, cashes in," Ian Rapoport said in the announcement on X.
Skoronski finished last season ranked as the No. 2 guard in the league when it comes to pass protection, which is exactly what the Titans needed him to do. This is what helped him earn the extension, as the No. 1 objective should be and will be protecting Cam Ward this season. Even with his great pass-blocking performances in 2025, Ward was sacked 55 times. This means that the problems on the offensive line won't be fixed because of an extension with Skoronski, but it is safe to say that it definitely will help in the long-term status of the franchise.
Skoronski isn't the only decision the Titans will have to make on the offensive line, as following this season the Titans will have to make a tough decision when it comes to right tackle JC Latham. The Titans will have to determine if it is worth taking on his fifth-year team option to extend him, or if they would rather move on as a whole.
The Titans will also need to find some long-term help at the remaining offensive line positions, unless the players at the positions this year have a good season in 2026.
At a minimum, adding Skoronski to the picture long-term may have come at a high price, but the value is unmatched, especially when considering what the Titans are looking for.
