Mikaela Shiffrin continues to dominate the international stage after delivering an incredible comeback victory at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She has now secured a record-extending 110th World Cup win, further solidifying her status as one of the greatest of all time.
Shiffrin, who had not won an Olympic medal since 2018, endured a difficult start at last month’s Games in Italy. She posted one of her worst slalom runs in the team combined event and failed to medal in the giant slalom. However, she bounced back with one of the best slalom performances of her career in the individual event, capturing her third Olympic gold medal.
Already the youngest American to win an Olympic gold medal in alpine skiing, Shiffrin also became the oldest to do so with her victory in Italy. Now, she has added another record on the World Cup stage.

The 31-year-old delivered an outstanding performance at the Alpine Skiing World Cup Final in Lillehammer on Tuesday, posting a time of 2:07.61 to defeat Wendy Holdener (+1.32). The win marked her ninth slalom victory of the season, a new record, and extended her overall World Cup tally to 110 wins.
"One of one 🐐," the team commented on the US Ski Team's Instagram.
With the victory, Shiffrin also claimed her ninth slalom Crystal Globe, surpassing Ingemar Stenmark for the most by any skier in history.
"This season has been so exciting. Quite like a whirlwind with all the wonderful races that we had, and with the Olympics and with everything, it's been pushing at a high level for a long time, and I'm grateful for it," Shiffrin said to FIS after.
The four-time Olympic medalist is now chasing the overall Crystal Globe. With an 85-point lead over Emma Aicher, she is the favorite to secure the title and tie Annemarie Moser-Pröll for the women’s World Cup record of six overall titles when competition resumes in the giant slalom on Wednesday.
