Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk isn't pleased with the way the White House celebrated Team USA's victory over Canada.

After the U.S. men's hockey team captured gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics, the White House's official TikTok account shared a video of the Tkachuk brothers - Brady and Matthew - at a news conference while "Free Bird" is playing in the background. The video then shows Brady Tkachuk saying, "They booed our national anthem, so I had to come out and teach those maple syrup eating f---s a lesson."

On Thursday afternoon, Tkachuk addressed this AI-generated video from the White House. He made it known that he doesn't approve of what was said in it.

"Well, it's clearly fake, because it's not my voice, not my lips moving," Tkachuk told reporters, via ESPN. "I'm not in control of any of those accounts. I know that those words would never come out of my mouth. So, I can't do anything about it."

Tkachuk added, "That's not who I am, so I guess I don't like that video because that would never come out of my mouth, and never had that thought."

What about the president's comments about the women's team?

After the U.S. men's hockey team won gold at the Olympics, they received a call from President Donald Trump. As he was congratulating the men on their accomplishment, he took an unwarranted jab at the women's squad, which also won gold in Milan.

“I must tell you, we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that,” the president told the men’s hockey team. “I do believe I probably would be impeached.”

When asked about Trump's comments this Thursday, Tkachuk didn't have much to say.

"I don't really have an answer. It's a whirlwind of a moment," Tkachuk said. "You can't control what somebody says. I guess got caught off guard a little bit. You're talking to the president 10 minutes after you achieve your dream."

The U.S. women's hockey team has not yet announced if it'll visit the White House in the near future. The men's team, meanwhile, attended the president's State of the Union address on Tuesday.
