Team USA fans are sending a blunt “reminder” to Caitlin Clark’s supporters on Sunday afternoon.
The American women eked out a victory over Italy, 55-52, in the second game of their 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup run. The U.S. women’s national team is the favorite to win the gold medal. However, on Sunday, they did not play like it.
While Team USA got the win, Clark did not play well. She finished with just:
- 1 point
- 1 assist
- 2 turnovers
It was a rough showing. However, while Clark was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and a clear fan favorite, Team USA supporters are reminding her fans on Sunday: she’s not a top player for Team USA.

Team USA’s supporters are reminding Clark and her fans: international basketball is a different thing.
“My favorite thing about these FIBA World Cup games is that newer WNBA “fans” get to learn that Caitlin Clark is not one of the best players on Team USA. She wasn’t even on the court for the final crucial minutes vs. Italy,” they warned.

“I’m not a new fan and she should have been on the court. The guards were not good 4th quarter. This game was the worst game I have ever seen the USWNT play. Horrible. They shot 29%. You are a moron though if you don’t think she is the best PG on that team,” one fan wrote.
“The Coaches were Horrible today . Face the facts Moron they almost lost the game because the OLD players started and ended this game . You must have a real pea brain hoping CC doesn’t do well . Go to Mamas basement!” one fan added.
“You’re an idiot. Every player that played today was garbage. The only player I could vote for player of the game is Kiki bc she didn’t play. Say something about Stewie’s 1-9,” one fan added.
“She was bad, but so was everyone else,” one fan added.
Clark, meanwhile, will look to improve moving forward in the tournament.
