Clemson's T.J. Parker is one of the top edge defender prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, bringing a balanced skill set to the table that should allow him to make an immediate impact on all three owns. Even in a strong class at his position, Parker could push for first-round consideration in this year's draft.

Here's everything NFL fans need to know about Parker heading into this year's draft:

T.J. Parker's Vitals

Height: 6-3

Weight: 265

Age: 21

T.J. Parker's Strengths

A well-rounded defender with a three-down skill set, Parker can get after the passer with both speed and power, and he uses his well-built frame to set a strong edge against the run. He’s got absolute hammers for hands, executing a wide range of pass-rushing moves and effectively disengaging from blocks to free himself up to make tackles in the ground game. He also has a knack for creating takeaways, forcing six fumbles in 2024. He shows the ability to seamlessly move from his initial pass-rushing move into well-timed counter attacks to ensure he creates stress and chaos for opposing quarterbacks by any means necessary. Parker is a smart, instinctive player who can sniff out screen passes and misdirection plays, and he brings a palpable intensity to the field that his teammates feed off.

T.J. Parker's Weaknesses

Parker doesn’t come off the ball with an elite first step, lacking the elite explosiveness of the other top edge rushers in this class. The same can be said for versatility, as Parker doesn’t have the overall athleticism or lateral fluidity to be comfortable in space when asked to drop into coverage, where his tackling technique and pursuit angles can also be inconsistent. Consistency has also been an issue in terms of keeping his pads low, and his motor can fluctuate from play to play. After putting up big numbers in 2024, Parker’s production dropped considerably (just five sacks in 2025).

Final Analysis

While he may lack the high-end athletic traits and upside of others in this group, Parker’s prowess as a run defender and ability to get after the quarterback in multiple ways still give him a high floor at the next level. He’s best suited for teams that still use a ton of four-man fronts and need a three-down edge defender who can defend both the run and the pass at a high level without having to come off the field.
