Sophie Cunningham and the Indiana Fever avoided a losing streak on Tuesday night, jumping to 28-15 on the 2026 WNBA season after a 96-77 win over Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx. The Fever will now turn their focus to the final game of the regular season, hitting the road to face the Lynx once again on Thursday.
Going into Tuesday’s Fever vs. Lynx matchup, Cunningham had recorded 1,993 points during her eight-year WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury and Indiana. And with 6:29 remaining in the third quarter, Fever point guard Caitlin Clark hit Cunningham for a 24-foot 3-pointer, increasing Indiana’s lead to 60-45.
This not only marked Cunningham’s eighth point of the night, but also the 2,001st of her WNBA career, officially hitting the 2,000-point mark.

Cunningham finished the game with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, two rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes off the bench. She also increased her career point total to 2,004, scoring 1,409 during her first six years with the Phoenix Mercury, playing alongside Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner. And so far in two years with Indiana, the Missouri Tigers alum has now totaled 595
After Cunningham reached 2,000 points, the Fever took to social media to show their support for the guard.
“go Soph ❤️🔥 congrats to Sophie Cunningham on surpassing 2,000 career points,” the Indiana Fever wrote on Instagram.
Fever fans took notice of Cunningham’s accomplishment as well, leaving their thoughts in the comment section.
“let’s go 🙌🙌🙌,” one fan said.
“Way to go Soph! Us Texans are proud of ya and your fight for our girls,” added another.
“Just getting started 🔥,” wrote a third.
“Congratulations 🥳. You’re the best,” commented a fourth.
“You are so brilliant and may you continue to inspire us all,” chimed in a fifth.
“Awesome! With all the outside noise you still produce on the court!” added a sixth.
Cunningham and the Fever will face the Lynx in the regular season finale on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
