WNBA legend Sue Bird was in attendance for the preseason game between the Seattle Storm and the Portland Fire on Wednesday evening.
Bird, one of the best players in league history, was in attendance as the Storm topped the Fire, 91-81, on Wednesday night. Bird, now retired, was drafted with the first overall pick by the Storm in the 2002 WNBA draft. She was a four-time WNBA champion and a 13-time All-Star and is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the game.
But she messed up with her outfit on Wednesday night.
Bird had to take to her Instagram Story to apologize for the unfortunate mistake.
Bird accidentally rocked the colors of the Storm's opponent. Bird rocked a bright red cardigan, seemingly showing support for Portland, although it was ultimately a mistake.
The 45-year-old WNBA legend issued an apology on her Instagram Story.
"My bad on the red," she wrote, sharing a hands-on-face emoji.
It's an understandable mistake, considering that Bird has had a pretty tough couple of weeks. She and her longtime girlfriend, Megan Rapinoe, announced that they have broken up.

Bird and Rapinoe, who had dated for several years - and even got engaged - announced their breakup earlier this month.
The two grew apart.
"There really is no smooth or easy way to share this news," they wrote in an Instagram post. "After a lot of thought, we've made the decision to separate as a couple.
"This hasn't been an easy decision, but it's one we've made together, with so much love, respect, and care for each other."
The couple arrived at the decision together.
"We've shared a whole life over the last decade, through big moments and in quiet ones, and that is something we'll always carry with us," Bird and Rapinoe wrote. "We are so grateful for this incredible community that has held us up, welcomed us in, and supported us exactly as we are."
