The Dallas Cowboys are 1-1 on the season, coming off a 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Dallas took down Washington behind a strong performance from Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Co. The Commanders, meanwhile, lost starting quarterback Jayden Daniels to an injury.
While Stephen A. Smith is not a huge believer in this Dallas Cowboys team – he never is – he’s openly “considering” shaving his head if Jerry Jones’ team reaches the NFC Championship Game.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky has already agreed to do it.
The Cowboys last reached the NFC Championship Game in 1996. America’s Team won three Super Bowls in the 1990s.
Jerry Jones is confident that this year’s team can get it done.
Cowboys owner is confident
Jerry Jones is confident and relieved after Sunday’s game.
“It would’ve been hard to walk down here and talk to y’all tonight 0-2,” Jones said. “I really was worried about what it was going to be like if we did end up 0-2. I can’t say that I was a color of strength in my mentality coming into the game because I’ve got a lot of respect for the coaching over on the Washington Commanders side. Having said all of that, this was a very important win for us, important to these guys who put the work in, the coaching staff, for Brian, and I’m really proud of them.”
The Cowboys’ defense continues to play poorly, but Jones is confident.
“We’re better than we’ve been in the last two years on defense,” Jones said. “And offensively, we saw some really impressive things tonight. And I want to give Washington a lot of credit for what they do defensively, but I like some things that I saw out there.”
The Cowboys will take on the Ravens in Week 3.
