ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has stated multiple times that he supports the Democratic Party, but apparently he'd be willing to change his political affiliation for one candidate.
Even though Smith has long-term security and a $100 million deal with ESPN, he has flirted with the idea of him eventually running for president of the United States.
“I have no desire to be a politician,” Smith told The Washington Post. “I have no intentions on being a politician, but I left the door open, A, because friends and loved ones of mine have asked me to do so and, B, because if these candidates appear to be as atrocious as they’ve been and we don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel to go up against what the other side is throwing in our direction, then will I entertain it? Yeah, I’ll entertain it.”
If Smith ultimately sticks with his current job, he could eventually endorse U.S. Congressman Byron Donalds.
During the latest episode of his self-titled YouTube show, Smith had Donalds on for an extensive interview. He had nothing but good things to say about the U.S. representative for Florida's 19th congressional district.
"And I ain’t no d— Republican. But that mean if anybody could make me one, it would be him. I’m just going to keep it a buck. I’m just letting you know," Smith said, via the New York Post. "He’s the real deal. Make no mistake about it. I’ve seen him battling with Democrats. I’ve seen him battling with people on different shows, whatever. He ain’t backing up. He knows his stuff. OK? I talk to him all the time. All the time. And I ain’t got nothing bad to say about him."

Will Smith make a run for office?
As of this moment, Smith hasn't made a final decision on the 2028 presidential election. He has, however, stated many times that he'd win almost any debate.
“I believe I can win,” Smith said, via Awful Announcing. “The only candidate I would be worried about is Marco Rubio. Because I think he’s an adult in the room with impeccable credentials, I can’t knock that. But I don’t believe there’s a Democrat out there I can’t beat. I don’t believe it.”
Only time will tell if Smith leaves ESPN behind to become a politician.
