Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White discussed how Raven Johnson is accepting her role as a rookie on the team.
On Monday, White spoke about Johnson during her media availability ahead of their game against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday. The veteran coach was asked about Johnson being "in and out of the rotation." White addressed this roster decision by praising the No. 10 in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
“Yeah, she’s been great,” White said. “I mean, look, I think that when you come from a place like South Carolina, you’ve short of been developed as a pro. And she understands that being able to have those conversations.”
Johnson has been a solid backup for the team in her first season in the WNBA. She’s averaging 3.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 12.8 minutes per contest.
Though she’s not been given a bigger role like fellow first-year players such as Olivia Miles, Azzi Fudd and Pauline Astier, the former South Carolina standout still performs when her number is called.

With this mentality, the Fever coach commended Johnson, particularly her influence on both ends of the floor.
“And I think with Raven, though, her ability to impact the game with her energy and defense, she’s going to be ready no matter what,” White added.
Recently, Johnson also reached a milestone in her career, recording 100 career points in a 108-88 victory over the New York Liberty on Saturday.
Johnson isn't likely to get heavy minutes anytime soon, but as her coach said, she has to be ready for any and all eventualities.
