Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White is bringing good news and optimism ahead of the 2026 WNBA opening night.

The Fever enter the new campaign with high hopes after a 2025 season ravaged by the injury bug.

Superstar Caitlin Clark appeared in just 13 out of 44 games. Key contributors Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald and Chloe Bibby also suffered season-ending injuries.

Despite the tough luck, the rest of the roster showed major resolve. Indiana finished 24-20 and earned a playoff berth. The Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream in the First Round before falling to the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA playoffs semifinals.

White recently shared an update that will delight Fever fans everywhere.

The Fever are two days into their official training camp ahead of their May 9 season opener.

Coming off a long layoff, conditioning will always play a factor for any team. That holds especially true for a Fever squad decimated by injuries a year ago.

After the first two days of training camp, White spoke to reporters and provided a vital update on the team's health. The news was positive enough that she even allowed herself to joke about it.

"I believe so. I think we got through the first two days healthy," White said. "I haven't heard a whole lot, so I think it's good. Soreness, of course, as it always is. The only people not healthy are the coaches."

The major concern entering camp was two-time All-Star Clark, who battled a left quad strain and a right groin injury. She erased all doubts with a stellar showing at the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament. Clark averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists per game on 52.9% shooting. She earned tournament MVP honors as Team USA went 5-0.

Indiana also made major moves this offseason to build around a healthy roster. The Fever locked up All-Star Aliyah Boston on a four-year, $6.3 million extension.

Indiana also brought Cunningham back in free agency, among other notable signees. A healthy Fever squad is a problem for the rest of the league.
