Steph Curry is one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
The Golden State Warriors superstar point guard made roughly $62 million in salary this season. He was the highest-paid player in the entire league. In general, NBA players are some of the highest-paid stars in the world. At least 15 NBA players made $50 million or more in salary during the 2025-26 season.
But are NBA players actually underpaid?
That's what Curry is arguing.
Curry, in an interview with Front Office Sports, claimed that because NBA players don't participate in equity and revenue sharing - like those who own the team - they're actually underpaid.
"Yes, we are underpaid," he argued.

It's certainly arguable that stars like Curry, LeBron, etc. should get a percentage of the team that they are playing for, given how much value they have added to the franchise.
But are they underpaid?
Not everyone is liking that argument.
"Teachers Doctors Military Police Fire Fighters or a regular worker is underpaid. He makes over 80 million a year it’s Sad he thinks this way," one wrote.
"This is where lose me… you know who is underpaid ? Those working behind the scenes that you don’t recognize," one added.
"Look at the valuation increase of the Warriors before and after Steph. Yes he’s underpaid," one argued.
"No Steph maybe you are underpaid as a superstar but them other tier dudes lol," one added.
