The Pittsburgh Steelers are headed to Raymond James Stadium, where they won Super Bowl XLIII, to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. Pittsburgh enters the matchup at 3-2 against a 1-4 Tampa Bay team, but don’t let the Buccaneers’ record fool you. All five of their games have been decided by one possession, and they just pulled off a major upset on the road against the Dallas Cowboys with a rookie quarterback.
Both teams have plenty to gain from Sunday’s matchup, as each remains within reach of its division leader. The Steelers sit one game behind the Baltimore Ravens, while the Buccaneers trail the Carolina Panthers by 1.5 games. Tampa Bay is preparing to start rookie Jalon Daniels again, although Baker Mayfield could return. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh hopes to get at least one of its two starting defensive backs back this week.
Here is Pittsburgh’s updated Thrusday injury report of Week 6.

The Pittsburgh Steelers received several encouraging injury updates Thursday ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Buccaneers. Running back Dowdle and defensive tackle Heyward progressed to full participation, while Watt also practiced fully after resting Wednesday. Benton improved from a DNP to a limited participant, and Ramsey returned to practice on a limited basis after missing Wednesday’s session with a wrist injury.
However, Pittsburgh still has concerns at wide receiver and in the secondary. Wilson and Skowronek missed their second consecutive practices, putting their availability in question, while Elliott and Dean remained limited. Elliott is eligible to return from injured reserve, but must show he is 100% ready to return. Friday’s practice will be critical for determining whether those players can return to action, particularly with the Steelers needing as much healthy depth as possible heading into Sunday’s game.
