Rick Pitino has found success with St. John's Red Storm since taking over the program in 2023. The former Kentucky and Louisville tactician built the program to have multiple 20-win seasons for the first time since 2013 to 2015.

The 2025-26 iteration of the Red Storm is also set to make another NCAA tournament appearance after coasting through the Big East. They are 16-2 in conference play and are only behind the UConn Huskies in the standings.

While St. John's isn't the most blue-chip program when it comes to talent, it's undeniable that Pitino is handling a group of talented athletes. He is especially partial to his trio of seniors — Zuby Ejiofor, Bryce Hopkins and Oziyah Sellers — as they lead the charge for the squad. Dillon Mitchell is another important senior in Pitino's rotation.

As the 2025-26 season comes to a close, Pitino made a request out of the Red Storm faithful in a social media post that would earn him brownie points in the community.

Rick Pitino Asks St. John's Fans to Show Up for Pregame Senior Event

Pitino reposted a photo of him with Ejiofor on his X account. He captioned the repost with an appeal to St. John's supporters to show love to their seniors as they bid farewell to their collegiate careers.

"Please be in your seats by 6:30 tomorrow night for the pregame senior ceremony!" Pitino said.

Fans took to the comments to address the invite.

"I'll be there Coach!" a St. John's supporter promised.

"Coach, for future reference, please doing the ceremony during half-time if possible," one fan requested. "We have jobs out here. 7 PM weekday day is hard enough!"

"YES SIR COACH," another replied.

"Rick, for you, anything!" an avid supporter professed.

"Seats will be filled by 6:30, Coach," one commenter swore. "Countdown's on."

One promised to support in a different way. "I'll be there-not in NYC at MSG-but the Peacock App!" they commented.
