An unidentified San Antonio Spurs fan has been declared brain dead at 17 years old, following a tragic Western Conference Finals injury.
The Spurs beat the Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night. San Antonio is off to the NBA Finals. The Thunder, meanwhile, are going home early after entering the year as the clear favorites to win it all.
Tragically, a teenage Spurs fan was critically injured in a Western Conference Finals celebration. The teen was celebrating the Game 6 victory when he fell off a vehicle and hit his head, according to relatives.

The 17-year-old San Antonio Spurs fan was rushed to the hospital where he is being treated for his catastrophic injuries.
However, the young Spurs fan has been declared brain dead. He is not expected to survive, according to authorities.
Statement released on teen's Game 6 injury
An investigation into the accident is underway. It's unclear at this time exactly what led to the accident.
“The San Antonio Police Department extends our sympathy to the family, friends and loved ones affected by this tragic and preventable incident,” the SAPD said in a statement.
“This serves as an important reminder that public safety is a shared responsibility. We encourage everyone celebrating to follow traffic laws, stay inside of your vehicles and follow directions from the officers who are there to keep everyone safe."
Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals is set for Wednesday night.
