College football fans who grew up in the early 2000s might remember the story of then-USC quarterback Matt Leinart, who took just one class his final semester of college – ballroom dancing with his then-girlfriend.
This fall, South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers isn’t taking ballroom dancing with his girlfriend. In fact, he’s not taking any classes at all. Sellers, one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft class, is focusing all on football and golf. He has an internship at a local driving range.
“LaNorris Sellers, who graduates in December, doesn’t have any classes this semester, only an internship at a local driving range,” Hale McGranahan shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday morning.

Sellers, a sport and entertainment major, is looking to get into facility management after graduating. He’s getting some first-hand experience with his internship.
“Just facility management and stuff like that, cutting grass and picking up balls like that,” he said, per 247Sports.
College football fans are jealous
“Stop, this has been a thing forever. Sellers took classes his first 3 years now that he has all the credits he needs. Same 20 years ago matt leinart had all his credits done so he took ballroom dancing his last year,” one fan wrote.
“LaNorris If you picked up a random Noodle on the range it’s the one I skulled a mile over the practice green,” one fan joked.
“These kids are so blessed. Not a bad way to spend fall semester,” one fan added.
“How does that work? I thought you had to be a full time student to play sports,” one fan added.
It’s life in 2026 for a college athlete – and it sounds like a good one.
