Sophie Cunningham averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals with the Indiana Fever last season. However, she played in just 30 games for the team and missed the playoffs after suffering an MCL tear in her right knee.
This 2026, after signing a one-year, $665,000 contract to return to Indiana, Cunningham certainly looks better and healthier than ever. She's off to a solid start, averaging 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in four games.
In the Fever's 89-78 win over the Seattle Storm on Sunday, Cunningham came off the bench after starting in three straight games, but she still impressed with 17 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

On Monday, Cunningham reflected on her season so far, and she couldn't hide her delight. While the Fever are 2-2 on the season, it's clear the 29-year-old guard has fully overcome her injury and is having fun playing once again.
"happy to be back in action," Cunningham wrote, while also sharing photos and videos of her pregame outfits and some highlights from the Fever's recent games.
Sure enough, fans absolutely loved Cunningham's post, with many sharing how hyped they are to see her thriving on the court once again after her injury-riddled 2025 campaign.
