WNBA star Sophie Cunningham is always brutally honest.
The Indiana Fever guard, who is in her second season with the franchise after starting her career in Phoenix, is opening up about how players in the league feel about their contracts. The WNBA's new collective bargaining agreement has given players significant raises, with most making high six figures and several making millions.
But Cunningham is here to remind everyone: WNBA players still aren't making so much that they have no worries about their financial futures.

During an interview on the “Sons and Daughters of Dale Earnhardt Jr.” show, Cunningham outlined the "ugly truth" about WNBA contracts.
“I am not ignorant. I know that if you use this platform, you can, once the ball stops bouncing, you’re setting yourself up for success, and the players need to start doing that because we don’t make enough money. Even now, after the CBA, we don’t make enough money to retire and not do anything once we’re done,” said Cunningham.
Cunningham is making roughly $600,000 per season right now, after previously making around $250,000.
The WNBA star likely makes much more through endorsements
Cunningham has become incredibly popular in recent months, thanks to her on-court play and her personality.
She's landed some big-time endorsements, too, including major partnerships with brands like Adidas, Quest Nutrition, European Wax and more.
So, while Cunningham might not be making enough through her WNBA contracts to retire young, she's likely still pulling in millions per year, thanks to endorsements and her podcast.
If Cunningham manages her money correctly, she should be more than set for her future.
