The Indiana Fever desperately needed a win Monday night, and they got one in dramatic fashion. With 1.2 seconds remaining and the Fever trailing by one, Caitlin Clark buried a deep three-pointer after receiving an inbound pass from Sophie Cunningham. The clutch moment proved to be the game-winner, sealing Indiana's 78-76 victory over the Washington Mystics.
The Fever had led by as many as 17 points before watching Washington erase the deficit. Clark finished with 19 points, while Kelsey Mitchell added 15 and Aliyah Boston recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The victory improved Indiana to 6-5 on the season and provided a much-needed boost after an uneven start to the year.

After the game, the Fever shared a photo on social media showing Clark and Cunningham embracing following the victory.
Cunningham responded swiftly on X, posting a reaction that summed up what many Indiana supporters were feeling during the closing moments.
“Stressin me tf out,” Cunningham wrote.
Following a disappointing loss to the New York Liberty, the Fever appeared on their way to a comfortable win before Washington’s second half rally almost cost them the game. Cunningham finished with eight points, two rebounds and three assists off the bench.
The Fever currently hold the sixth best record in the WNBA and will return to action at home against the Chicago Sky on Thursday. After escaping Washington with a victory, Indiana will look to build momentum and climb further up the standings as Clark, Cunningham, and company continue to find their rhythm.
