Sophie Cunningham has quickly become one of the most-followed WNBA players in the league.
The Indiana Fever guard has a big following on Instagram, with more than 4.2 million followers. She’s a role player for the Fever, but has a bigger social media following than just about every other WNBA player.
Many people in Cunningham’s generation use social media as a dating app. Celebrities and athletes are known for sliding into one another’s DMs, often resulting in relationships. Trinity Rodman admitted that she slid into the DMs of her now-boyfriend, Ben Shelton, early on in their relationship.
But what is dating life like for Cunningham?

Despite being one of the most popular players in the WNBA, Cunningham admitted that she doesn’t really go on dates right now.
“What is the worst first date you have ever been on?” she was asked by Pat Spinosa.
Cunningham surprised by admitting: “People don’t come up to me. Like, I don’t really go on dates.”
The WNBA star then had zero interest in discussing her dating life.
“When’s the last date you’ve been on? Like legitimate date?” Spinosa asked.
Cunningham responded: “Why? I’m not (expletive) answering this.”
Cunningham will have time for dating later
The Indiana Fever are in the middle of a playoff chase. The Fever have one of the best records in the WNBA and are in search of a Finals run.
While the league is currently on a two-week break due to the FIBA World Cup, the offseason will be here in a few months.
Perhaps Cunningham will dive deep into the dating world then. But, for now, the WNBA guard appears to be focused strictly on basketball.
