Sophie Cunningham has nothing but respect and admiration for Caitlin Clark amid the big season the Indiana Fever star is having.
Entering Thursday's game against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark was averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game. She's third in the league in scoring and second in assists, establishing herself as an MVP candidate.
Cunningham, for her part, has a daily front-row seat to the CC show and has seen how the superstar guard has improved her game.
That being said, when asked about what she has seen in Clark's development this campaign, Cunningham had high praise for her Fever teammate.

"I think she's just starting to get in rhythm," Cunningham said of Clark on Wednesday. "I think our team overall is starting to get in rhythm and feeding off each other pretty well, especially when we share the ball. ... For her in particular, when she's moving that ball and getting her assists, I think that's when we're at our best.

The WNBA veteran also pointed out one "elite" aspect of Clark's game that has been more prevalent this season.
"And her mid-range game is elite. I think everyone has always known that, but you can really see it on display this year so far," Cunningham added.
It's worth noting that Clark went 23 for 65 from mid-range in her first two seasons in the WNBA. Prior to the Aces game, she had already made 21 mid-range shots on 54 attempts this season, per Her Hoop Stats.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Clark will further expand her game. One thing is certain, though, Cunningham and the rest of the Fever are enjoying seeing her grow right before their eyes.
