Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham had a one-word reaction to Caitlin Clark’s incredible WNBA run.
In the pilot episode of the new podcast “No Hesitation with Sophie Cunningham & Drew Hanlen,” the Fever veteran couldn’t help but be in awe of Clark’s outstanding season, particularly her strong play in the last 16 games.
Hanlen, Cunningham’s new podcast co-host, pulled up Clark’s staggering stat line over what has been an amazing stretch for the three-time WNBA All-Star.
“Caitlin Clark is playing out of her mind,” Hanlen said at the 38:12 mark. “… In her last 16 games since she had that 45-point game, she’s averaging 26.0 Points, 9.3 assists, 49.6% from the field, 43.1(%) from three.
“And to me, the other thing, the most important thing, is she’s averaging seven free throws a game, which I think is like the unlock.”
Cunningham was shaking her head as Hanlen got into Clark’s stats. Cunningham had just one word to describe the awe-inspiring development involving her teammate.
“Insane,” Cunningham declared.

Cunningham went on to identify the biggest improvement she’s seen in Clark’s game this season.
“She didn’t play last year, and that was my first time really being on the team and being her teammate,” Cunningham said. “But I really do feel like this year, she is using her body so, so well.”
“And she’s strong. She’s using the glass. Her jump shots are going in, and it’s efficient, and it’s good for us. But I do think that her body control this year has been huge.”
Indiana currently sits at the No. 5 spot in the WNBA standings with a 26-14 record. They have a chance to finish as high as the No. 2 seed with four games remaining in the regular season.
They will return to action on Friday against the Toronto Tempo.
