Solo Sikoa wasn’t boring at first.

His introduction to WWE’s main roster was genuinely intriguing. Sikoa debuted at Clash at the Castle in 2022 as The Bloodline’s silent enforcer, and the role worked. He was young, intimidating and mysterious enough that saying less actually made him more interesting.

The problem came after WrestleMania 40.

WWE put Sikoa in a position he was almost destined to lose: replacing Roman Reigns immediately after the greatest championship run of WWE’s modern era.

Suddenly, Solo was wearing the ula fala, leading his own Bloodline and occupying the space Reigns left behind. Everything about the presentation invited comparisons to Roman, and Solo simply wasn’t ready to carry that kind of character.

WWE Is Finally Letting Solo Sikoa Be Himself

What WWE is doing with Sikoa now works because it feels much closer to who he naturally is.

Solo is funny. That shouldn’t be surprising considering his father, Rikishi, and brothers, The Usos, have always had plenty of personality themselves. We’re finally seeing more of that from Sikoa. He’s cocky, obnoxious, expressive and, most importantly, entertaining.

It’s also a welcome departure from the stereotypical “Samoan monster” presentation. WWE doesn’t need Solo in that role, especially when Jacob Fatu is considerably more believable as an unpredictable destroyer.

Sikoa doesn’t need to be Roman Reigns, and he doesn’t need to be Jacob Fatu.

WWE has finally stopped asking him to be either.

As it turns out, Solo Sikoa is much more interesting when he’s simply allowed to be Solo.
