Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have dazzled WNBA fans all season long with their on-court connection. The Indiana Fever backcourt duo teamed up for another sensational play during Game 1 of their first-round series against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
The 2024 Rookie of the Year dropped a between-the-legs pass to Mitchell for an easy layup. Clark ran the play on the right side before unleashing a bounce pass through the legs of Las Vegas forward Cheyenne Parker-Tyus. Mitchell caught the ball as she made her way to the rim and finished with her left hand.
A slo-mo video of Clark’s eye-catching dime is currently making the rounds on social media.
Aliyah Boston led the visiting team with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, along with eight rebounds and four assists. Clark contributed 15 points, three rebounds and 10 assists, while Raven Johnson and Sophie Cunningham combined for 27 points off the bench. Mitchell struggled from the field, shooting 4-of-16 for 12 points and three assists.
Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson dominated for the Aces. She recorded a game-high 38 points on 15-of-19 shooting, with 16 rebounds and four blocks. Jackie Young supported her with 21 points and 10 assists, and Chelsea Gray added 14 points, five rebounds and eight assists.
The Fever proved no match for the defending champions in Game 1, losing 102-85. They now face elimination and will rely on home-court advantage in Game 2 on Tuesday to extend the series.
Game 2 will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Amazon Prime will broadcast the game live.
