Angel Reese received some pushback for a sneaky move on Sophie Cunningham during the Indiana Fever-Atlanta Dream game.
Indiana visited Atlanta on Sunday for a marquee matchup at State Farm Arena, with both teams aiming to secure crucial wins as the regular season nears its end.
The Fever overcame an 18-point deficit to grind out a 95-91 overtime win against the Dream in a game that was full of drama and high intensity.
One of the more notable moments was when Reese shoved Cunningham while they were battling for positioning down low. The referees didn’t call a foul on Reese, which immediately drew negative reactions from fans, especially after seeing the slo-mo replay of the incident.
“@ WNBA should be held accountable for these atrocious officiating since they won’t hold their refs accountable and won’t ensure all their players have good sportsmanship and self-discipline, they should be responsible for the special whistles, wrong/no calls, ghost fouls,” a fan said.
“And the league ignores her dirty play to prop her up,” a user claimed.
“Look at the ref just standing there. Sophie Cunningham is not going to get a call. I wonder why? That is a push right in the back in front of the ref. The Fever beat the Dream and the refs today,” a fan stated.

Cunningham finished with three points, seven rebounds, and one assist on her birthday, while Reese had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds and six assists.
