Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark averaged 25.7 points on 53.7% shooting, 5.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists in the three games she played between July 27 and Aug. 2. Her performance earned her the Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor, her third of the season.
Clark is now averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game this season. She is third in the WNBA in scoring (trailing only A'ja Wilson and Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell) and second in assists (behind only Alyssa Thomas).
After the WNBA announced Clark's latest recognition, however, popular sports commentator Skip Bayless couldn't help but remind everyone of the disrespect the Fever star has gotten from her WNBA peers.
To recall, Clark was voted as a starter in the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, but it was no thanks to her fellow players. While the Fever star finished second in WNBA fan votes and third in media votes, she was only 11th among guards in player votes.
Clearly, Bayless still can't believe how Clark was overlooked by other WNBA players.
"Somehow the player who finished 11th among guards in All-Star voting by rival players just won her third Eastern Conference Player of the Week award this season. Go figure," Bayless wrote on social media.

For what it's worth, Bayless is not alone in his sentiment. A number of experts have also criticized the WNBA All-Star voting in the past, including basketball legend Candace Parker, who said that those who voted Clark as the 11th-best guard in the league "got some insecurities."
Former WNBA star Stacey Dales also said that it's "insulting" how Clark was treated by the other players.
For context, not all WNBA players were able to vote. In fact, it was reported that only 85 out of roughly 180 players submitted ballots for the All-Star selection.
Regardless, for Clark not to be voted among the top guards in the league is certainly shocking, especially with the way she has been playing throughout the season.
