Sidney Crosby's legend is mostly cemented after more than two decades as the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins — winning three Stanley Cup finals and racking up countless individual awards.
On top of all of his team success, Sid the Kid is also an eight-time NHL All-Star, two-time Conn Smythe winner (MVP), two-time Art Ross winner (scoring champ) and is top 10 all-time in points scored (goals + assists).
And now with his latest performance in the 2026 Winter Olympics, Crosby has made even more history as a member of the Canadian national team.

Sidney Crosby makes Team Canada history
Per The Athletic NHL insider Chris Johnston, Crosby's contribution to Canada's dominating 8-2 performance over France has put him in rare air when it comes to Canadian hockey lore.
"Sidney Crosby is now the all-time points leader for Team Canada 🇨🇦 in NHL Era Olympics -- tied with Jarome Iginla at 14 points," Johnston posted to X.
Crosby logged a goal and two assists in Canada's first two periods. And as impressive as his accomplishment is, teammate Connor McDavid isn't too far behind — being just eight points behind in eight less periods than the 38-year-old Penguins legend.
Fans celebrate Sid the Kid's latest milestone
"Different era, same dominance. Crosby breaking Iginla’s record feels like a full-circle moment for Canadian hockey," a user said.
"Well, congrats Sidney Crosby! Cool record to have!" another exclaimed.
"From watching him as a kid to seeing him rewrite history… Sidney Crosby still leading from the front. Records fall, legacy stays. 🏒🇨🇦" a fan commented.
"Captain clutch 🇨🇦 Crosby keeps rewriting history. What a legend. 🐐" another person replied.
"The GOAT keeps GOATING," another fan shared.
Crosby has been nothing short of amazing since he first stepped foot on the ice — as has the rest of Team Canada as they eye another gold medal for their homeland once they get out of the group stage.
