Former Philadelphia Phillies reporter Taryn Hatcher is once again back in the spotlight.
Hatcher covered the Phillies for NBC Sports Philadelphia. Unfortunately for sports fans in the City of Brotherly Love, she wasn't brought back for the 2026 MLB season. She revealed that her role with the network was eliminated after seven years.
Though it's not a huge surprise, Philly fans were heartbroken over Hatcher's departure in February.
“Cat’s out of the bag, so I’ll keep this short and sweet as possible. Sadly I won’t be returning on Phillies coverage this season. At the conclusion of the 2025 season, I was told that my role on the sidelines at NBCSP was being eliminated moving forward,” Hatcher wrote. “While the news was pretty heartbreaking, I have to acknowledge that it was a really fun run. I loved every second of it. I’m grateful for everyone who tuned in over the years and for the wonderful people I’ve met along the way.”
Back in business.
Less than a month after announcing her departure from NBC, Hatcher landed a new gig as a reporter. Despite her history with the Phillies, she's no longer covering the MLB.
Hatcher has agreed to join The CW's crew for the Professional Bowlers Association. She referred to this gig as "the perfect fit" for her at this time.
"I didn't know what to expect, but it’s been so much more fun that I could’ve anticipated," Hatcher told The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Hatcher's first assignment was the Illinois Classic in early March. Since the PBA season runs through April 26, it won't be long before fans see her back on The CW.
