You can love him, you can hate him, but one thing you can't do with Shedeur Sanders: ignore him. Whether it was at Colorado or now in the NFL, the spotlight has always followed him. And spotlight was on him even before he entered the glamorous world of the NFL.
Former Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders was widely projected as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but that wasn't the case, as he suffered one of the most shocking draft slides in recent NFL history. Shedeur Sanders fell to the fifth round where he was eventually selected by Cleveland Browns with the No. 144 pick.

There were several factors behind the stunning draft fall. NFL teams had questions about his ability to develop into a starting-level quarterback. The concerns weren't just about his on-field ability; they were also related to his off-field persona, which led the Browns to pass on him six times before eventually selecting him in the fifth round.
Deion Sanders' son is back in the headlines amid his QB1 battle with Deshaun Watson. The duo have been competing for the starting job, and while competition has remained relatively close, Deshaun Watson appears to have gained the edge after Todd Monken gave him all of the starting reps to Watson during Saturday's practice.
This reportedly led to Shedeur Sanders being frustrated as he thought it was his turn to take the first reps. An ESPN Cleveland reporter discussing the situation said, "Yeah, he's frustrated, and I get why he's frustrated."
"Shedeur was going through drills, and, you know, the body language the entire practice was just kind of off from jump straight. And you could tell that, you know, he probably was upset that it was his turn to take first-team reps, and he got put to the back of the line behind DeShaun. You could clearly see out of his body language that he wasn't, he wasn't his normal, you know, energized self," the reporter added.
Shedeur Sanders has shown throughout his career that he can put setbacks behind him and move forward, despite being frustrated in the moment. It will be interesting to see how he reacts this time around.
