Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders proved this week that you don’t need to be on the field to make a true impact.
Sanders, the 144th overall pick from the 2025 NFL Draft, took time out of his busy schedule this week to visit two public schools in East Cleveland. According to Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland, the second-year quarterback for the Browns gave away 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to students at Kirk Middle and Caledonia Elementary.
As part of this charitable event, the students received free food from Pizza Hut and Pammy’s Ice Cream. Sanders also signed autographs and gave out advice to the youth.
“I chose two schools in East Cleveland because I like going to different places a lot of people wouldn’t go and showing a positive side of things because if you just look online, you only see the negativity about parts of East Cleveland and different parts of Cleveland,” Sanders said, via Bleacher Report.

Shedeur’s kindness hasn’t gone unnoticed by the NFL.
On Friday morning, Sanders was named the Week 3 NFLPA Community MVP. The NFPA has recognized his incredible work by donating $10,000 to his Legendary Impact Foundation.
“I truly believe in perfect timing, and being named Community MVP means a lot,” Sanders said. “What matters most is those kids knowing they are seen, they are heard and they are felt. If that gives them a little more motivation to keep showing up, then we did our job.”
Kudos to Sanders for being a true role model in the Cleveland area.
