Shedeur Sanders grew up surrounded by football excellence. The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, he emerged as one of college football’s most recognizable quarterbacks during stops at Jackson State and Colorado, where he posted strong production and earned multiple honors before declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Despite widespread projections as an early-round pick, Sanders slid to the fifth round, where the Cleveland Browns selected him 144th overall. He later signed a four-year contract worth approximately $4.6 million.
After beginning behind other quarterbacks on the depth chart, Sanders eventually played eight games (seven starts) for the Browns in his rookie season, completing 120 of 212 passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Sanders also achieved a rare honor: he became the first Browns quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl since 2008.

Throughout the ups and downs, his family has been a constant source of support. Deion, who coached his son in college, and the rest of the Sanders household expressed their support through regular game attendances and support online.
Now, it appears the family is coming together for another exciting initiative. In a collaborative post on Instagram, Sanders announced Friday that he and his family are bringing back their interactive WhatsApp group chat experience for the Super Bowl in a collaborative post with the messaging platform.
“The Chat is back with the Sanders family for Sunday’s big game!” the caption read. “Be a part of their family group chat as @deionsanders @shedeursanders @shilosanders and @deionsandersjr share their live reactions during the first hour of the game.”
This marks another collaboration between the Sanders family and WhatsApp, following previous fan-facing digital initiatives centered on their behind-the-scenes interactions.
Super Bowl 60, featuring the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, is set for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and will be broadcast on NBC.
