"Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary has been accused of a "despicable" Kobe Bryant decision.
O’Leary, a.k.a. "Mr. Wonderful," rocked a custom Kobe Bryant necklace featuring a 1997-98 Upper Deck Game Jersey Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant dual-autograph card at Sunday's SAG Awards. The $20 million card features 2.2 pounds of Tiffany white gold and 100 carats of Tiffany diamonds.
The "Shark Tank" star announced the news on social media.
But not everyone is happy.
Darren Rovell, who worked closely with Kobe Bryant on his BodyArmor deal and other ventures, called out O'Leary for disrespecting the Los Angeles Lakers great's legacy on social media.
"Don’t you dare say you are bringing Kobe back to LA. You don’t get to buy yourself into his legacy," he wrote.
Fans are conflicted on the move
"MUCH rather have the hour I got to spend with Kobe in 1997/98 season then own some manmade manufactured card," one fan wrote.
"Horizontal card in a vertical holder is something PSA really should have addressed," one fan added.
"I’ve never understood why people always liked “Mr Wonderful”?? He’s a greedy grifter," one fan added.
"Just cuz Kobe may have kind of liked you don’t mean you are the arbiter of all things Kobe going forward. You need to calm down," one fan added.
Did O'Leary cross the line here?
