Undefeated four-division boxing champion Shakur Stevenson recently uploaded a training camp vlog to his YouTube channel, in which he receives coaching from none other than Hall of Fame superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr., who provided pointers for Stevenson’s next opponent. The dialogue between Mayweather and Stevenson had boxing fans talking on social media and speculating who Stevenson’s future opponent may be.

With Stevenson recently signing with Dana White’s promotion, Zuffa Boxing, the vlog gives fans the first glimpse as to who will be Shakur’s first opponent while competing under the Zuffa banner.
Mayweather’s Tips
In the vlog footage, Mayweather shared very specific advice to Stevenson that implied that his next opponent has not faced many elite southpaws.
In one exchange, Mayweather tells a shadowboxing Shakur, “Yeah, come right over his jab. Right over, because he’s used to fighting orthodox. He’s not used to fighting southpaws.”

While much of the video’s audio was muted to keep Stevenson’s training camp secretive, Stevenson himself left some breadcrumbs as to who his next opponent could be.
While continuing his shadowboxing, Stevenson appeared to have said, “I’ve got to keep working. He’s a little stronger.”
Though these two sound bites were brief, they fueled speculation among boxing fans as to who Stevenson’s next dance partner could be
Pacquiao Rumors
The most notable fighter that fans are floating as a possible opponent for Shakur is the legendary Manny Pacquiao, whose last bout was against Mario Barrios in July 2025 for the WBC welterweight title. The legendary Filipino boxer, who came out of retirement, fell short in his historic bid to recapture a title and fought Barrios to a draw.
Though Pacquiao competes at welterweight and Stevenson has not confirmed whether his next fight would be at lightweight or junior welterweight, rumors of a potential fight between the two gained traction on social media.

Notably, Mayweather has fought Pacquiao and was scheduled to fight him in a rematch, though their fight failed to come to fruition.
Devin Haney Super Fight
Outside of the Pacquiao fight, one of the current biggest fights to make in boxing would be a clash between Stevenson and Devin Haney.

While Haney is dealing with personal grief since his mother passed away and will likely angle for a grudge match against Gervonta “Tank” Davis for making crude jokes about his mother, a super fight between the two may still be in the cards.

Other Potential Opponents
With Shakur’s next fight likely taking place below welterweight, a lucrative Pacquiao fight may not be within Stevenson’s immediate future. There are, however, a few lightweight and junior welterweight fights that could be interesting.
One fighter is Raymond Muratalla, the current IBF lightweight titleholder. Muratalla won an upset victory over Cuban phenom Andy Cruz earlier this year and has previously expressed interest in fighting Shakur (via Boxing Scene):
Jose “El Rayo” Valenzuela is another rising name that could be Stevenson’s next opponent.
The Valenzuela fight is one of the more viable fights from a promotional logistics standpoint, given that the two are signed with Zuffa Boxing. Shakur, however, had previously expressed that he is not interested in fighting with “El Rayo” any time soon (via Naji Chill h/t Boxing Massacre on X)
The junior welterweight division, in which Shakur currently holds the WBO title and the lineal Ring Magazine belt, has Gary Antuanne Russell as his most probable matchup. The only other champion, Dalton Smith, currently has a title defense lined up against Alberto Puello in October.
