Sean McVay is arguably the best head coach in the National Football League.
The Super Bowl-winning head coach is viewed by many as the No. 1 pick you’d want to start your franchise with. McVay, who became the youngest head coach in NFL history when he was hired by the Rams in 2017. The NFL head coach was just 30 years old at the time.
Since then, he’s gone on to win a Super Bowl, while putting out consistently contending teams with the Rams in the NFC West.
But McVay has admitted that he’s been “lying” to himself about his NFL coaching career. He’s gotten so stressed that he’s thought about walking away, retiring and getting into sports media.

McVay told “60 Minutes” that he has lied to himself about his NFL coaching career.
“The lies I told myself were once we win a Super Bowl, I’ll be happy,” he told “60 Minutes” this week.
NFL fans react to McVay’s admission
Sometimes, the chase is better than the end result.
“When Brett Favre won the Superbowl he was visibly sad on the podium, turns out he enjoyed the chase more than the destination,” one fan wrote.
“This shows how important identity outside of football truly is. Football is what you do…not who your are,” one fan added.
“Any competitor is never satisfied with 1 title. That can be a combination of luck and a fluke season. Two, means it was you whether coach or QB,” one fan added.
“The most interesting people I know, Get to a very high achievement and then do something else sometimes Start from scratch. And are quite happy about it,” one fan added.
“You have to respect the honesty and vulnerability here. McVay is awesome,” one fan added.
It’s an interesting admission from a man at the top of his field, that’s for sure.
