The Seattle Seahawks have been the top dog since winning the Super Bowl back in February.
There were some other teams who had substantial buzz as well, but most considered the Seahawks to still be the cream of the crop. That remained true after the Seahawks picked up two impressive wins to start the season.
Last week, almost every power ranking had the Seahawks in the top spot. However, the team went out and lost to the Washington Commanders in Week 3, which was not on anybody’s Bingo card.
Now, let’s look at some notable power rankings and see where the Seahawks sit.

What National Pundits Are Saying About the Seahawks’ Power Ranking

“Sam Darnold’s first game back began with the most predictable outcome in the NFC West: a Jaxon Smith-Njigba touchdown reception. The rest was far from foreseeable. Two Darnold interceptions — including a fourth-quarter pick-six — doomed the Seahawks, who gave the Commanders a collection of extra chances and paid the price. No, that’s not a pun intended to demean rookie running back Jadarian Price (who fumbled early in the game and was benched for a while), although he didn’t help matters, either.” -Nick Shook (NFL.com)
“What if I told you the Seahawks got four passing touchdowns from Sam Darnold and were playing against the Jayden Daniels-less Commanders and somehow lost the game? You would say that each year there are four to five games that we’ll probably never think of again because they are so inexplicable and strange in hindsight and are closer to a dream than reality. This would be one of those games.” -Conor Orr (SI)
“Price was 25th among running backs in ADP, reflecting the fact that he was going to be part of a timeshare in Seattle’s backfield. But even with those modest expectations, the rookie first-round pick is off to an underwhelming start. He ranks 47th in fantasy points among running backs after a dud of a performance in Week 3, when he totaled 22 scrimmage yards on six touches with a lost fumble. The fumble was Price’s second in as many weeks, which was a big reason for his diminished workload.” -Brady Henderson (ESPN)
“Losing to a backup quarterback in Marcus Mariota is not a good look. Sam Darnold did some good things in his return, but the pick-six he threw was not good. They will be back.” -Pete Prisco (CBS Sports)
Seahawks Finally Look Beatable

The Seahawks went 2-0 without Sam Darnold and then lost in his first game back. Of course, this doesn’t mean the Seahawks are better with Drew Lock, it was just an off game for the team.
Darnold turned the ball over twice, which definitely didn’t help things. However, it also didn’t help that Ty Okada missed another game, and Julian Love wasn’t on the field either in Week 3. This secondary needs to get healthy if they want to repeat as champions.
