Six weeks into their Super Bowl title defense, the Seattle Seahawks are still looking for a running back they can trust. Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame ranked Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard ninth among 15 players who could be moved by the Nov. 10 trade deadline, and he listed Seattle and the Jacksonville Jaguars as potential fits.
Durability is the selling point. Pollard has missed four games over the past five seasons, according to Pro Football Reference, and he has started all six of Tennessee’s games this year. He ran for 1,007, 1,005, 1,079 and 1,082 yards from 2022 to 2025, and he caught at least 33 passes in each season from 2021 to 2025.
Seattle’s backfield has thinned out fast
Kenneth Walker III, the Super Bowl MVP, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in March. Rookie Jadarian Price went on injured reserve with a chest injury after a lost fumble against Washington. That left Emanuel Wilson as the lead back, and he has 303 yards on 87 carries. Seattle is 3-3 after a 17-14 overtime loss in Denver, its third loss by three points or fewer.
Zach Charbonnet is working back from February ACL surgery and has not played this season. “Zach looks fantastic,” head coach Mike Macdonald said earlier this month, per FOX 13 Seattle. “There’s a process to get him physically and mentally ready to go. We understand that. We’ll work with him and make sure he feels great when the time comes for him to come back.”
Pollard has 349 yards on 87 carries for a Titans team that is 1-5 with the worst offense in the NFL. He has not fumbled, and his 73.0 overall grade ranks 13th among 45 running backs, according to PFF. His receiving role has shrunk to eight catches for 24 yards as Tyjae Spears takes passing-down snaps.
The cost should be manageable. Pollard is in the final year of a three-year, $21.75 million deal with a $6.74 million base salary, per Over the Cap. Tennessee would save $7.25 million and carry $2 million in dead money by choosing picks over its starter, while Seattle has $12.6 million in cap space. For a contender that wants a steadier ground game in front of the Lumen Field crowd, a rental back who rarely misses a week is a modest price to pay.
