The Seattle Seahawks‘ running back room will look slightly different in 2026.
Kenneth Walker II, who was a star and huge difference-maker for the team, left in free agency. To replace Walker, the Seahawks drafted Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price in the first round. The expectation now is that Price will share the backfield with Zach Charbonnet once Charbonnet returns from injury.
The team only kept three running backs on the initial roster, as Charbonnet is still on the PUP list. As a result, Price is going to be expected to play a huge role immediately. At least one writer expects Price to debut in a big way on Wednesday night.
Price Predicted to Go for 100+ In His Debut

Randy Gurzi of Seahawks OnSI recently published four bold predictions for the Seahawks’ Week 1 opener against the Patriots.
One of these predictions is for the rookie Price to eclipse the 100-yard mark and cement his status as the team’s lead back already.
“Seattle fans will get their first look at Jadarian Price on Wednesday after the first-round pick sat out the preseason,” said Gurzi. “In this final bold prediction, Price proves to be worth the wait. During their Super Bowl win, the Seahawks leaned heavily on Walker and will do the same with Price. That leads to more than 100 yards as he seals his status as their new lead back.”
If Gurzi’s prediction comes true, that will be a great sign for this offense. The reason the Seahawks’ offense was so efficient a year ago is that the passing game and run game complemented each other perfectly.
With Walker gone and Charbonnet injured, it’s understandable to have concerns about this room. We also didn’t get to see anything from Price in the preseason, but that’s a good sign because the team saw enough in practice to feel satisfied.
Rushing for 100 yards against the Patriots will be an impressive feat. The Patriots’ defense was the No. 6 unit against the run in 2025, and they return most of their important pieces. If Price dominates on the ground, it’s hard to see how the Patriots can beat this team in Week 1.
The Seahawks and Patriots will kick off the 2026 season on Wednesday night at Lumen Field.
