The Seattle Seahawks have several notable injury situations to keep an eye on.
Obviously, quarterback Sam Darnold is the big one. Darnold left early in Week 1 with a glute injury and missed Week 2. The thinking was that Darnold would miss three or four games, but his recovery has gone extremely well.
Darnold returned to practice this week, and the team told us that a decision on whether or not he would play this week would be made on Friday.
So what did the Seahawks decide? Also, what about the other notable injuries?

The following players were listed on Friday’s report:
- Sam Darnold– Glute- Full
- Nick Emmanwori- Ankle- Full
- George Holani- Knee- Full
- Ernest Jones IV- Neck- Full
- Cooper Kupp– Back- LP
- Ty Okada– Hamstring- DNP- OUT
- Brandon Pili- Concussion- LP- QUESTIONABLE
- Jadarian Price– Chest- Full
- Brady Russell- Chest- Full
- Julian Love- Calf- DNP- OUT
Only three players have injury designations, and Darnold is not one of them. This means the star quarterback will make his return against the Commanders, much sooner than anyone expected.
We knew this was a possibility. Darnold made it known this week that he didn’t want to miss any more games, and he was able to go through practice without any pain.
Unfortunately, Ty Okada is out once again, and surprisingly, so is Julian Love. This means that both starting safeties are out for this game. I would expect Nick Emmanwori and Rodney Thomas II to handle safety duties in Week 3.
Love is a big loss, as he’s genuinely been one of the best safeties in the league. Luckily, the Seahawks are playing against the Commanders, who will be without their star quarterback Jayden Daniels.
It’s good news that everybody else on the report will play. Rookie running back Jadarian Price, George Holani, Ernest Jones, and Cooper Kupp are all very important pieces. It will be nice to see if Price can bounce back after a disappointing Week 2. Kupp is also looking for his first big game of the season.
