Jaxson Smith-Njigba has been one of the best players on the Seattle Seahawks roster all year long. The 23-year-old wide receiver led the entire NFL in receiving yards during the regular season with 1,793. He also added 10 touchdowns, which is a career high in his three years in the league. As a result, Smith-Njigba was named the 2025 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Smith-Njigba kept his foot on the gas in the NFL playoffs. He helped lead Seattle to victory in the divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers. The All-Pro wideout was also integral in their NFC Championship win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Smith-Njigba, however, was involved in a scary moment in Super Bowl 60 against the New England Patriots on Sunday. The two-time Pro Bowler hit his head on the ground in the third quarter. His helmet bounced off the turf, and Smith-Njigba was slow to get up.

Smith-Njigba was then seen entering the medical tent, where he was reportedly checked by a concussion specialist. After a few minutes in the blue tent, the Seahawks star headed to the locker room, accompanied by the team’s medical staff.

Shortly after Smith-Njigba’s departure, the team announced that he was being evaluated for a concussion.

The announcement was followed by a report indicating that Smith-Njigba is officially questionable to return to the game.

Smith-Njigba exited Super Bowl 60 with 24 yards on three catches. It now remains to be seen if he will be able to return to help his team close this one out.

The Seahawks' defense has been dominant, thus far. As of writing, Seattle is up 19-7, with 12:27 left in the game.
